5, including child, killed as covered van rams into CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Gazipur

At least five passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw lost their lives when a covered van rammed into their vehicle last night (14 September).
The accident happened at Mulgaon Madrasa area on Kaliganj-Tongi-Ghorashal road in Gazipur around 11pm, confirmed Kaliganj fire service official Mostafizur Rahman today (15 September).
"Fire service rushed to the spot and recovered four bodies, including that of a woman. A child, who was injured in the accident, was taken to the hospital by the locals, the doctors declared him dead," said Motafizur.

According to police, the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was coming to Gazipur's Kaliganj from Narsingdi's Ghorashal.
The covered van rammed into the auto-rickshaw from behind at Mulgaon area on Kaliganj-Tongi-Ghorashal road around 11pm on Saturday night. Four of the passengers died on the spot, police said.
The CNG driver has been referred to Dhaka for better treatment, police added.
Police also said that legal processes were underway regarding the incident.
