A team of District Administration and National Consumers' Right Protection in Barisal seized 200 cartons of food items of Fu-wang Foods Limited over production date manipulation on Monday night.
The mobile court also sentenced two employees of the company to imprisonment for different periods and fined Tk50,000 – confirmed shah Shoyebur Rahman, assistant director of the National Consumers' Right Protection in Barisal.
The employees Md Jakir Hossain and Md Shafiq were sentenced one month and 15 days imprisonment respectively.

The mobile court Judge and Executive Magistrate of the District Administration AFM Shamim said, "On a tip-off, we along with Kotwali police station conducted a raid in the company's dipo at Kazipara of the city and found advance production date on the products."
"They put January 28 as production date on the products while they arrived at the dipo on January 27," he added.
The seized goods have been destroyed by burning.
