Two people died when a fishing trawler capsized in the Meghna River in the south of Bhola early Monday.

The deceased are Rajib, son of Harun-ur-Rashid from Ashabpur village in Charfesson upazila of Bhola, and Rakib, son of Barek Mollah of Velumia village of Bhola Sadar.

The bodies were recovered from a locked cabin inside the trawler while seven fishermen were rescued with the help of local fishermen.

Md Shamsul Arefin, officer-in-charge of Charfesson Police Station, confirmed the incident, saying, "The bodies of the two men were rescued last night and have been handed over to their families."
