2 dead, 4 hurt as truck plunges into ditch in Rajshahi
The deceased – both mango traders – were identified as Nuruzzaman, 50, son of Fakir Ahmed, and Aiyub Khan, 50, son of Azizur Khan in Jessore’s Jhikargachha upazila.
Two people were killed on the spot and four others were injured when a mango-laden truck fell into a ditch in Rajshahi’s Godabari upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased – both mango traders – were identified as Nuruzzaman, 50, son of Fakir Ahmed, and Aiyub Khan, 50, son of Azizur Khan in Jessore’s Jhikargachha upazila.
The accident took place around 5am after the driver lost control on Rajshahi- Chapainawabganj road in Kamarpara area of the district.
On information, members of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and admitted the injured, including the truck driver, to Rajshahi’s Godabari Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godabari Model Police Station Jahangir Alam said the police had seized the truck.
He further said the bodies would be sent for autopsy and a case in this connection might be filed.
