Eighteen people of Chattogram have received smart firearms licenses in the second phase of smart license distribution.
Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division A Gaffar Khan distributed the licenses at the District Administration's conference room on Monday.
The smart license contains 14 types of information, including the firearms owner's name, address, biometric information and issuance date of firearms license.
Smart license recipients can apply for renewal of license, deposit fees and share information from home, Chattogram District Administration Staff Officer Shamim Tanvir said.
The district administration, with own funding, has made these smart licenses for firearms owners with the help of a technical institute.

In the first phase, 24 businessmen of Chattogram got high security smart licenses with biometric information on December 5, 2018.
According to the firearms division of the district administration, the number of legal weapons in Chattogram city is now more than two and a half thousand.
