Fleeing Bhashan Char, 12 Rohingyas detained in Noakhali
They were trying to return to the refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar

Some 12 Rohingyas, including five children and four women who fled from Bhashan Char, were detained from Companiganj Upazila in Noakhali on Friday morning.
Abul Kalam Azad, inspector (Investigation) at Companiganj Police Station, confirmed the incident and said all of them are in police custody.
A case was filed in this connection under the Foreigners Act, 1946. The 12 Rohingyas will be produced in court on Saturday morning.
Locals said they detained the Rohingyas when they reached the Char Elahi Dakshin Ghat area of the Upazila by boat, after fleeing from Bhashan Char. The Rohingyas confessed that they were trying to return to the refugee camp in Cox's Bazar.
Locals informed Companiganj Police who took the Rohingyas to the police station.
