1 killed, 5 injured in Banani road accident

A man was killed and five others were injured in a road accident in front of Banani Railway Station in the capital on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Jalil Mollah, 40, a pickup van driver hailing from Dattapara in Gazipur.

Banani Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mir Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman told Prothom Alo that the accident took place as a pick-up van carrying a group of around 10-12 workers overturned on the road after being hit by a private car, leaving six injured.

The critically injured driver Jalil was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Five injured workers were given first aid at DMCH.
